My Hiatus And What I've been up to...
So it's been a little over a year since my last post, I actually forgot about this blog. Now I'm a high school senior, with the Marine Corps. and a college education looming in my not-so-distant-future. What am I going to major in? That's a good question, and I've thought of multiple possibilities: Exercise Science, English, Philosophy, a lot of different things. The opportunities are endless and I'm excited to begin this next chapter in my life. Playing guitar, skateboarding, and finding a girl whom I love dearly named Kylie Dawn took up my free time. Music and skateboarding are great forms of stress relief. Expression through song, or through the physical art that is skateboarding is great! Not to mention that they can be done alone or with people, socialization is such an overlooked aspect in today's society. I've made so many new friends over the past year, with a lot more to come. This is getting quite long, so I shall bid thee farewell. Until next time, that is. :-)

Cursing, sex, alcohol... Oh my!
Ah, teens and our vices. While I only succumb to one, (cursing, and trying to tone it down a bit) these three things always seem to be at the forefront of teenage conversations, "He slept with her? What a harlot.", "Dude, I got totally hammered at that party the other night.", "F**k you, you stupid b***h!", etc. What's the appeal? Please don't try and tell me it's because we can't do it, because we most obviously can. Are you trying to fit in? Why? How much fun is it really? I hear it on a daily basis, "Garrett you're so different." I'm generally known by my last name as my moniker and when I do something "wierd" it's always just "me being me." Now, I'm not 100% on this but isn't that how it's supposed to be? Everyone as their own person? Who knows, the teenage masses will travel together into all the trends they so desperately chase and will drone on through life this way. Not me, or at least I won't try. Be different. Be yourself. Live an interesting life, you'll thank yourself when it's over ;-)

Why I Chose This Background
There's always something that provokes an action. Knowledge is what provokes thoughts, or musings from my mind, and as that's the name of this blog, I felt books, a universal symbol for knowledge, would be appropriate. I'll think of more stuff later ;-) I promise.
